Strategic partnerships

Below you will find details of some of the strategic partnerships in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.  Connexions Staffordshire contributes to the work of each of these partnerships.

Children’s Trusts
Children’s Trusts are the partnership bodies which bring together all agencies delivering services for children and young people in an area. Each Children’s Trust has produced a Children and Young people’s Plan detailing the actions partners will take to improve the lives of children and young people in their area.

Local Area Agreements
Local Area Agreements are the means by which local services for all ages are developed and improved. They bring together the Government’s national standards and priorities with local priorities identified by the local authority and its partners in the local strategic partnership.

Each Local Area Agreement identifies up to 35 priorities chosen from a range of national priorities, 16 statutory priorities for education and early years development and a range of local priorities identified through the local strategic partnership.

Connexions Staffordshire is perhaps most notably identified with supporting the reduction in numbers of young people not in education, employment or training.  However, the diverse range of our work with all age groups means that we are able to contribute significantly to the achievement of many of the indicators identified in both the Staffordshire and the Stoke-on-Trent Local Area Agreements.
